One request if there ends up being a 4-cyl turbo option...
I only have one request for the new Camaro if there ends up being a 4-cylinder turbo engine option.....
Please, please, either make the exhaust note sound like a v8 or make it super quiet. I don't want a kid sitting next to me at a stop light rev'ing the engine and having it sound like a lawn mower. I can deal with the fact that the Camaro "might" be built with a I4 engine, I just don't want to be reminded of it when I'm looking at the beautiful exterior of the car. |

they will be able to make it quiet, but you cant make a 4 banger have the rumble of a v-8.

You could always loop a CD with the V8 rumble and turn the stereo way up!

that car is sweet looking......i think it looks like a car you see in a comic book or something. look at it from the front......think of a different color......and tell me you can't see "The Joker" driving that.

Some I4s have a cool burbly noise. Sure its not a V8 rumble, but it is cool in its own way. Then there is the dreaded dentist's drill sound. If GM allows that, I will not be happy. We should start a fund to buy back any Camaro that gets riced out.

I do NOT want it to have the soup can on the back OR sound like a pissed off bumblebee! We can HAVE a Bumblebee Camaro that's a V8 and yellow with black stripes... But it can't SOUND like a bumblebee! That's just wrong!!!

omg you people are being children about this. can't you just accept that some people have their preference for their car's sound? the people with those huge tail pipes love that "weed whacker" sound, and personally i think it is cool in its own . it is fascinating that you can get in some cases 1000+ hp from a V6 (see Toyota Supra) that normally get about 220-250 hp or 600+ from a 4 banger. we love the rumble/gurgle of our gigantic V8's and some people find that to be annoying so why not just get over the news? i see it is interesting to say the least.
and i also think it'll make the car really upset when handling hard. the nose is going to be so light unless they use something to weigh it down some. i personally want a V6 SC with a possible RS package on it. if i can get that stock i'll be in heaven. the V6 version is going to make it nearly 50/50 and the SC won't do too much to upset that. i just hope with a DOHC engine that will work!!! please just try to some people's preferences and argue about things that actually matter. i hope the I4 (if it is produced) brings a whole huge market to our beloved camaro and keeps it alive for years to come! |

I can respect that people have different preferences. I started this thread to add a little humor into the recent posts so that everyone would hopefully return to normal and get over the comments made by Lutz. That's all. I'm guessing you missed the that accompanied the original post? |

I personally don't care what a turbo car will sound like, because I'm already plotting on how to get sidepipes to work on my car, so I won't hear the other car anyways.
