The whistle is there, but it's not that loud. For me, it's just a reminder that I have a little something extra under the hood.

I guess I never noticed it with the AirAid. It may also be due to the fact that the injen intake is out of the engine bay so it makes it easier to hear.

I recently purchased and installed the Injen Cold Air Intake. Since the first day I've noticed an actual whistling sound while accelerating. I've had a cold air intake on my previous two vehicles and never heard this type of noise before. Additionally, I had an Air Aid cold air intake on this Camaro before I bought your product, and never noticed this type of noise. It isn't the sound of air being pulled into the filter it is definetly a whistling sound. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Maybe the tube inside the tube, as shown in the attached picture) Apparently it is common noise since some other members on Camaro5.com have noticed this too. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe Ragolia
Why did you drop the Air Aid for the Injen in the first place? Was the Air Aid not working for you? I noticed K&N just came out with a 69 Series Typhoon intake for the 2010 Camaro V6 and V8. It boasts less HP but has an aluminum tube which makes it look cooler (built for performance and show). And they did publish their Dyno results http://www.knfilters.com/dynocharts/69-4520_dyno.pdf

I had purchased and installed the Air Aid Intake rite before all the controversy started with the claims of it causing a loss in horse power and increasing the fuel trim levels. So I did some 0-60 comparisons on the same day using the dyno on my Iphone, and found I got better times with the stock box. Yea I know the Iphone isn't 100% accurate, but for me it was good enough for comparison purposes. I also noticed a 2mpg drop with the Air Aid Intake installed. So after everything I decided to get rid of the Air Aid and wait until more third party data on the Injen Intake was released. After about a month of reading everyone's reviews and data logs I decided to purchase the Injen Intake, and I couldn't be happier with the performance and look of it.

Today I completed my install of my Injen system that arrived today from, http://www.autoanything.com/air-intakes/61A2810A0A0.aspx
The system was rather easy to install, taking about 90 minutes. They provided the most detailed and easy to follow instructions I have ever seen for any type of project. Everything fit extremely well.
I took the Camaro for a ride after the install and it felt like there was some more snap. Too early to tell since I didn’t have a great chance to run it from the hole. I was able to feel the 2nd and 3rd gear pulls on the highway.
Again many thanks to all those who bought this system before me and expressed how good this system works for the Camaro.

To be honest, I really don't even notice the whistle any more, it's rare. I would say it's a non issue.
