What kills me is this. The elitist manual drivers here bash all the Auto drivers... yet as soon as an Auto driver decides he wants to own a Manual... and is learning how to drive it, he's smoked too.
Doesn't make any sense to me. We're here to help each other, not laugh at them because their parents didn't own a manual while they were growing up.

I gave a helpful suggestion: Spend 100 bucks and rent a Hyundai with a manual and drive on hills all day long. As far as on the Camaro, I don't want any more nannies that are going to raise the sticker price for everyone. At the very least, if (God forbid) they DO implement this feature, stack it on with another techno nannie like rear impact detectors and make it a "Safety and Convenience" package or some such thing. I am not against anyone learning to drive a manual, just don't learn on something that has 400 odd horsepower. Learn on a POS that you aren't going to have to pay to get a new clutch installed on. And I have nothing against autos either. My DD/Winter car is an auto, because it makes getting a remote start WAY easier. |

That said I'm sure its nice to have but I really don't need it and wouldn't pay extra for it, and IMO its a useless feature considering this skill that any stick driver should have.

The HSA feature in the Challenger can be easily disabled. Some people like it, others hate it. It's like EDRs, ABS and airbags, part of our brave new world!

Now that is funny.... But, I haven't driven a manual in quite sometime, so I bet I will kill it a few times until I get back up to speed....

All in all, I think hill start assist would be a nice optional feature. But make it optional for people who are worried about it. Save the people who are not the $100. But then again if they made it optional it'd probably cost a heck of a lot more than $100... That's the way the options game goes I guess. If you want the cool option, you're gonna have to pay for it.

Since i started this thread, I didnt asked for help on how to shift into frist on a hill, ive been driving stick for a long time now and i know how to drive on a hill, you can put me on the steepest hill you can find and i will be fine, i was just asking if this would ever be available, i just think this is a better solution than some people burning up their clutch or just dumping the cluth, we all know not everyone knows the correct way to do things. It was only a simple question... From autos to stick, who gives a shit, how bout that...
