Hot Tubs

So last month I just had a new 16x16 composite deck built and it is attached off the back of my house. The deck is about 12 foot off the ground. I was thinking of putting some concrete down, screening it in, and buying a nice hot tub. I am looking to spend about 8 to 10 thousand on the tub. Sounds great, but the problem is I don't have a clue about hot tubs. Does anyone own one? What type of things should I be looking for and what should I avoid? How much of a pain in the ass are they when it comes to upkeep? Any manufacturer prefrence? Any tips would be appreciated.

I've had a Hot Springs tub for a decade now. Very well made, well insulated.

You use it more in the winter. It also gets less use every year. I don't regret getting it, I just don't use it much any more.

There all kind of the same, depending on what features you want. Radio and speaker, how many jets, you can pick your floor layout. Shop all brands and check on pricing, make sure it is a Listed Tub (UL or ETL label.) And make sure your deck can hold the weight, 12 feet is a long ways down.

Boned once in one. Didn't care for the splashing though. I can't remember her name either.
