Need to Vent
I really don't get it. A couple things happened this week which are repeats of other past days.
Peeve 1: I like going to car shows and gatherings. Why do people feel the need to tear out of the parking lot? Tear up the residential streets nearby? It's people like this that give car enthusiasts a bad name. And it isn't just the kids; I attended an event on Wednesday, and a gray beard had his car sideways, full-throttle, in a residential neighborhood. WTF? Why? Peeve 2: why to people in other psuedo sports-cars feel the need to rev their engines when I drive past them? Am I supposed to be impressed? What point is trying to be made? Who does this? Tell your stories. This mentality puzzles me.

People that have so much money into their engine need to show it off, they never have anywhere to do it at haha, its the only thing i can think of, but still wrong...

My wife is a psychologist and calls these people "insecure with the need to behave with overcompensation to relieve a self-perceived inferiority issue" ...I don't have a PHD so I just call them idiots.

Some use the rev as a wave.
Calm down.

Smoked by a GIRL
|
I went to a cruise in this past Sunday and several guys roasted their tires leaving. Frankly I don't get it but whatever. Being a girl and driving a flashy Camaro like mine gets a lot of attention. Usually positive but I get a lot of insecure men wanting to race me
in their minivans Just do your thing and ignore them.

Usually when other people in sports cars rev their engines at you it's just a form of saying hi.. No need to cry about it. Every time I see a muscle car ill rev my engine at it

Dude, take it easy. We have performance cars. We like to show them off. I don't agree with getting sideways in a residential area, so yes that's a bad thing. If you have to call everything else "overcompensating for an inferiority complex", fine with me. There's more important things to me to be concerned about over a rev'ed engine. With that rev'd engine, think of it as acknowledgment that they see you got something nice.
