Lubricates better.
This creates less internal resistance and thus less drivetrain loss. It also creates less metal shavings in the fluid/oil, keeping it clean for longer. - Xanthos P.S. - I buy mine at O'Reilly's.

It should by no means void your warranty. Although I wouldn't (and neither would royal purple) suggest putting it in till after about 5,000-10,000 miles on the odo.

The engine just breaks in better that way. You can technically do it at the first scheduled oil change, but whats the harm in waiting longer?

Royal Purple is not an Approved product for use on GM cars, If I were you I would use one of the Synthetic products approved by GM, If you were to have a failure they would be able to deny your warranty claim based on using unapproved fluids (both Oil and Transmission are not approved). GM has a list of approved Synthetics availible, I have pulled it up before but right now I can't access it from work.
GM has been using more synthetics in their transmissions and I would make sure before I changed it that the Camaro has synthetic already in it first.

he's talking about trans fluid. one thing to keep in mind is that GM has spent a lot of R&D on this new trans that we have and have even stated that there is no fluid change interval for the auto unless you are seriously thrashing on it daily. i'd leave the stock trans fluid in there. but i'll be changing the motor oil to RP.

horsepower on powerblock changed out the engine oil, tranny fluid, and rear diff fluid all for royal purple on an LS1 camaro. they put it on a dyno and picked up 7hp at the wheels.

The reason it was stated not GM approved is because its not on GM's very short list of oils that they have tested. Its not that its not as good as the ones they list, just that it was not submitted for testing. Will they not honor warranty work if you use it....time will tell. Personally I love the Royal Purple products. I have seen first hand what they can do, but if i think they may be reason for causing problems then I wont use them. Ill just use the GM approved brands.
