Dealer installed Stripes vs. Extended length stripes ?

i have seen all the different pics of the stripes and searched all over but i cant seem to find a side by side comparison of painted stripes that cover the mail slot and the vinal dealer installed ones. I just got my Black 2SS/RS and am trying to decided which i like better does anyone have a side by side of the two?

I called my painter yesterday (in business for 30+ years, does the local mercedes and jaguar work, many of the vettes, incredible restoration work on 50s cars) and he actually told me to go with vinyl versus doing paint. His reasoning was that if I get tired of them (he's known me for 16+ years), or something happens to them, we can just strip them off and replace them.

If my guy won't take my money for painting the stripes, I'm really leaning towards vinyl. Today's vinyl is so much better than the stuff 20 years ago...it lasts and is very resistant to peeling if done right.

I'd do a black painted stripe that's a bit darker for a ghost effect.
