Blew out back end today
Today I was at work showing my boss my car and he wanted to see a real muscle car launch so I abliged. To my dismay i dropped the cluch at about 3000 rpms and the back end exploded and shot out peices all over the place i was in shock and awe ( then sobbing) called my dealer and they are picking it up tomorrow. I was just thinking that a v8 manual should be able to handle it and my manager will vouch that i was not in any way abusing it.

well I guess i have seen cars that have lifted off the ground at start and have ridden with mustangs that droped at 5 or 6 gs with no problems but the need for new tires but maybe some one should start a poll to see if the majority of people think that is abuse on a car with 2000 miles on it

that sucks
Maybe oil the tires the next time,LOL, I would think 3000 would be ok, as long as it wasn't red lined. hope your computer didn't record the RPM.
Good luck.

Hello!
|
That sucks!
There is no reason this Camaro can not handle a 3K launch! And if someone says it shouldn't...then I don't know what you have been driving but a $32K plus "muscle car" with 426 hp can (should be able to without any hesitation!) handle this! Everyday if needed! No excuse! Hope it's fixed soon and you should dropped the clutch at 3K when you leave the service dept to make sure it's fixed! I would! GM would be putting a new rear end in my car daily if it couldn't handle a 3K clutch drop! |
