THIS IS A CAMARO PEOPLE!

It's not some rare machine that turns into a robot.

The ONLY car excluded from any discount is a ZR1

The malibu had discounts from day one.

GM gets the same amount of dollars per car, no matter if a discount is offered or not.

Agreed- and as such the dealer "loses" out by accepting GMU/GMS, and since it is solely their decision as to accept/not accept (assuming offered by GM first), why would they? They'll sell the car anyways at this point in time. People are pointing out that only 10,000+ have been ordered to which my response is, wait until the regular public realizes this car is available... Discounts will be few and far between through September IMO. After that, you start running into typical model year end discounts and the like anyways...

My dealer has already signed a contract saying he would give me the GM employee discount, if offered by GM.

When i asked about it, he said he didnt think they would offer it, and i told him i still wanted it in my contract because i think they will offer it. So he called some guy (i dont know if it was just his superior or what) and he sounded pretty confident that there would be GMU and GMS on the camaro.

I emailed GM asking if they were going to honor employee discount and they said they had not made a decision, but that they will honor suppliers. I do not still have the email, but i know for a fact that someone else had posted the letter/email on this site. THEY ARE HONORING SUPPLIERS

Fbodfather said a while back (in PM) that it was unlikely supplier would be offered.

Oh and FYI:

GMS = Employee pricing
GSU = supplier pricing

I emailed the supplier people... here was their reply.

Hello [my name],

We have no information as of yet on if the discount will be offered for this vehicle. You will need to wait until the vehicle is available then you can check the website to see if it is eligible.

Sincerely
[gm rep's name]
GM Supplier Discount

In addition, fbodfather said he didn't think it would be available but he didn't know for sure.

I've got a deal with my dealer for "MSRP or lower including any applicable incentives" so if supplier is available, I'll get it. My fingers are crossed for sure.

Did you email the main GM people or the supplier people? The main GM people don't know anything about suppliers. They probably just went on the suppliers site and looked at what cars are currently restricted, didn't see the Camaro and said "sure, it's available". But the suppliers site says "2009 GM cars...except...". The Camaro is 2010 and it's not in production yet anywars so it's still up in the air.

So basically, it's still up in the air. We shall see. Even if they say it is available, that doesn't mean GM will honor it if they change their mind (even though I doubt they've made a decision yet). When it's on the supplier site, I'll believe it.
