I read that also. Even the non ABL cars with the adapter have to tie in to the door switch to get power since none is supplied to the adapter in those cars.

or you can go to the dealer and have them reprogram the BCM

These are painted and clear coat on the outside.

With ABL we don't have them done yet. But getting closer.
