road trip advice with c5?

Hey people I plan on taking a road trip up to niagara falls canada this summer and I wondering what I should to the car to prevent road damage? I don't have a clear bra on. Should I put a ton of wax on the front bumper?

For those who already took road trips in their camaro, what did you do for prep? Did you notice and damage when you got home?

Thanks

The only way to prevent road damage is to leave the car in the garage and take a rent car.

A lot of northern states use the summer months to make road repairs, so if you go very far, you will definitely have to drive through some construction. You can avoid a lot of damage by not tailgating, which also gives you more time to react to obstacles in the road.

This. Especially large trucks, 18 wheelers etc. But you should be practicing this all the time, at least I do.

I highly recommend a clear bra. No amount of wax will prevent a rock from causing damage.

I got two huge chips out of my windshield, so did the two Camaros in front of me in our caravan. A dump truck changed lanes and kicked up a bunch of gravel. Couldn't do anything.

I am driving mine daily. There will be road damage over time.

Different strokes for different folks is the way I look at this. I often wonder what people get out of storing this car and not even driving it.

I still take care of the car, wash it regularly...and if the damage to the paint gets bad, I'll just have the car re-painted at some point, perhaps with some nice custom paint job (flames or something? who knows).

I drove my 4th gen all over the Midwest, Detroit to Chicago, back and forth between Chicago and Atlanta, through ice snow, road salt, etc...during all that time I never got too much damage, maybe a nick here and there, but NO significant damage. Her little sister's gonna get driven and I'm gonna love every minute of it, just like I did with her older sister!!!!

Clear Bra is your best bet, otherwise just drive it and smile. There isn't a Camaro on the road that won't have a character mark after a while.

More likely you'll just get a quarter inch layer of smashed bugs on your front end.
