Convertible rollover protection

Good afternoon all. I'm a proud owner of a 2013 ZL1 convertible and have found myself in a slight dilemma. I was planning to attend an "open track -race day" event with my car. I recently discovered that with a convertible I will need a "roll bar" or some type of "rollover protection". I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on this topic. I do not want a permanent roll bar in my car as I rarely plan to race it. Does any manufacturer make a legal, removable system that complies with safety guidelines, while remaining somewhat simple to install/remove with minimal cutting or modifying to the car?
Thanks for any help!

Same dilemma here. Don't know if this would pass inspection.

there were a couple removable bars in the for sale section, not sure if anyone ever bought them, could look there for them and at least see where they got them if they arent still for sale.

I faced the same dilemma for the WannaGoFast 1/2 mile drag shootout coming up in Chicago in June. I did some research and consulted with WannaGoFast and found that the a-pillar is sufficient for top-up racing; however, they do require a roll cage for top-down racing. Every event is different though, but I would check to see if they think that would work for your track day.

That would never pass nhra inspection. The min is a 5 point cage. That thing is really a sport bar.

I've been track and road racing for 10 years. Running a convertible in open road race or high speed track events is not normally allowable without an approved roll bar and most are a minimum of 5 point bars. While it can be done, it's difficult to install a tempoaray bar. Good Luck

fastlane in houston is working on a vert legal roll bar that bolts in and is removal with pins.It allows complete movement of the seat and it will be a fast removal of the back bars. I am disabled ,and need to be able to put my wheelchair in the backseat as it wont fit in the crappy little trunk, lol.

Just by looking at the pics I would say there are at least 4 - 6 permanent mounts attached to frame. Then the bars are attached to mounts with pins for removal.

The CDC light bar is nice and very popular with our customers, but it does not provide safety in a roll over..
