What is causing this noise? (video)

It happens 80% of the time when I'm in drive and the car is not moving. It starts at 0:10.

Well with your forum name, it sounds like your car is being posessed by evil trolls...possibly from those that parol this forum........ok, j/k.

It sounds like its coming from the back of the radio/gauges? maybe has to do with the fan circulating for a short period of time?

Is it normal for the fan to come on for 5 seconds or so? The noise only appears then.

i just started noticing this noise this past weekend. thought it was something wrong with transmission since it like vibrates the shifter and i can feel the vibration in the car, it's only when i'm at a stop

Yep, looks like we have the same problem. Are you going to take it into the dealer?

I think all LS/LT's do this. I was concerned after I bought my car when I heard this and went to test drive another new LT and it did the same thing. Dealer salesman said it was normal (I know....how much can you trust what they say is right though?).

You live close to a Mustang graveyard. Just live with it my L99 did that, My LS3 does it and my BMW 330I did it.

sounds like the squirel cage is rubbing the housing. If thats correct the dealer should fix it under warranty.
