Ford Taurus SHO vs Charger R/T
If you were in the market for a performance sedan to drive all year round with 6 months of snow what would you choose if it was between these 2 rides Taurus SHO or the charger R/T AWD?
2011 Ford Taurus SHO DOHC 3.5TT V-6, 365 hp/350 lb-ft 6-speed automatic $38,595-$41,395 (Rapid Spec 400A, Rapid Spec 401A, Rapid Spec 402A) 2011 Dodge Charger R/T OHV 5.7L V-8, 379 hp/410 lb-ft 5-speed automatic RWD: $30,995-$35,995 (R/T, R/T Plus, Road/Track, R/T Max) AWD: $33,145-$38,145 (same trims)

The SHO. We have a 2010 Taurus SEL and love it.

Could have sworn I read that the charger performed better but they are both very good high powered sedans

Hands down the charger, the charger out performs the SHO and is the more sportier ride. The only the the charger lacks is a better transmission, but its getting an 8 speed auto and maybe a 6 speed manual next year, once that happens the charger will blow the SHO away. God I miss the pontiac G8 :(

I drive an '11 R/T RWD. I've been in love for the past 12000 miles. the Uconnect system kicks the hell out of ford's "MyFordTouch" infotainment suite. There have been nothing but problems with that system on every vehicle it is on. My parents have a 52,000 Lincoln MKX (same infotainment system as ford), and it just cannot compare to my charger's Uconnect.
I haven't even gotten into performance.. ppl with the SHO try to show off at lights, and I blow by them no problem even with their head starts. The turbo 6 is pretty kick ass for what it is, but its still no comparison for the 5.7 hemi. I can even manage to get 22 MPG to a tank of gas, all the while abusing the hell out of the gas pedal.. lets face it, these cars are too much fun to not drive them like you stole them. When I'm looking for good milage, I can get 26 mpg to a tank of gas (half city, half highway). On the highway i get 30mpg all day long. The rear gear ratio is low enough that it does very well on the highway. The Road and Track pack gets you a higher gear ratio, which means more violent launches, but is bad on high way-- all depends on what your looking for. Fit/finish, and options are very similar across the board for these cars. I put my R/T Max (all options, stickered for 37,170) in my drive way for 35,320 after all taxes and fees. There is also no gas guzzler tax for the charger. I don't have enough good things to say about the charger! Go test drive both and decide for yourself!! Play! have fun! buying a new car is supposed to be fun, so go have some!!

SHO was a great ride for me when I had one. Hated to sell it but I had to. Very good in snow for what it was. I can't imagine the RWD Charger will be as good in the snow but AWD version could be a unbeatable.

The EcoBoost has an amazing torque curve... The EcoBoost is also seriously detuned from the factory... A tune only took my Flex from 14.2 down to 13.4! Agree on the Ford MyTouch... has been a bit of a disaster... but they appear to be working through the bugs... Our Flex doesn't have MyTouch... just the Sync which works quite well..

M5's are also cool but since it doesn't have AWD so its kind of irrelevant. |

Ford has a revised SHO coming out in spring. I saw it at the St. Louis auto show. The car looked stunning in red candy.

I'd go for the SHO.
