I'm very pleased with my A6. I think it is very fast and the torque is awesome. I go 0 to 80 often. I have turned off all the controls and took it to a very quick 110. I think having it in tap shift mode might be better from the jump. It shifted each gear at around 5k in drive. I wanted it to hit 6k, so the next time I go to 110 I will drop it to M and shift on my terms.
Are you a professional race car driver, or amature race car driver? If so, the car might require some modifying. If not, you should be very pleased with the power. Most people are getting on here like they are going to do something with their car. If so, great. This is what a enthusiast site is for. A modded challenger or mustang could beat it, but you will most likely beat them hands down with no extra money spent. The A6 is a great vehicle. I now have 2380 miles on mine after getting back from Nags Head. No complaints in the driving category.

UNFORTUNATLY ANY BRAND NEW PRODUCTION CAR BUILT WILL HAVE SOME ISOLATED ISSUES NO ONE IS PERFECT. I DON'T KNOW OF ANY TANNY PROBLEMS ON ANY GRAND SCALE. I;VE TRIED BOTH MANUAL AND TAP SHIFT WHICH IS VERY COOL BUT I'M A SHIFTER GUY AND THEY ARE TIGHT AND SHIFT GREAT

What kind of 60 foots are the autos getting? If it's not at least 2.0 then the driver can improve. I have an L99 on order and am planning on drag racing it. But I will buy a set of rear wheels and Nittos first.

I'm wishing I would have got the stick. I think it is faster more consistantly across the cars.

I own a 12.5 sec. 435 hp '67 Camaro 327 c.i. 5-speed richmond manual.
Owned since age 16! Modified? You bet 'ca! I am 47 now, and have been there done that! I still enjoy my '67! I now own a 13+/- sec. 2010 Camaro A6. I have been nothing but enjoying this ride. Would I like another 150 H.P.? Yes, wouldn't most of us! Does it rip asphalt like my '67? No. Would I like it to? Yes! Did I expect it to? Yes! I'm I disapointed with that? Yes, a little. I'm I sorry I bought it? No...not at all! Has it met my expections? Most and exceeded more than! This is a great designed car. It is not a little "puddle jumper". I just can't imagine anyone that drove my A6 not enjoying it! A matter of fact, my really close friends have driven it and not one has been disapointed.....at all! Another fact.....they were impressed! And, I'm not talking about just everyday drivers, some are expercienced Racing drivers. To me......this speaks for itself! Enjoy your car everyone! I am!

YES. Just yesterday, I was at an on ramp where two lanes merge...a guy in a rental van saw me behind him, so he waved me around. I nailed it (just a reflex from the days with my '66) and the car TOOK OFF. The rear end broke loose (got a little squirrelly) but it felt GREAT. This was my first real "stump". I'm happy. Cool air intake and exhaust work in the future.

I just got my SS A6 and to anyone who says its a dogs should drive mine. I put 200 miles on it in 2 days and it drives great. I also own a 98 camaro ss auto and the new one is by far a better car. I put it in competition mode and didn't really hammer it down but punched it a little and I could feel the tires were going to break loose if I hammered it to the floor. It has positive shifts also. For someone to beat it with a stick they must know how to drive a stick otherwise the will loose. I had my share of manual muscle cars in the past. My frist car was a 69 Chevelle ss 396-375 hp-4 speed. I also had a 67 camaro ss that I bought from someone who put a 69 z-28 302 in it with a 4 speed. But if you dont know how to drive them you will get beat by someone in an automatic.

Well it has to be some bad ECM's or something. I can not break my tires loose unless I power brake the car. Power braking is not good on the motor or the brakes. This car should be able to spin the tire just by punching the gas with traction control off. Some guys have talked about the auto braking the back end loose to at least chirp the tires. My car has never been able to do that.

I get around 19 MPG with a mix of highway/city driving.
The automatic is great, IMO. Paddle shifters are fun, especially when around "rice". I've never driven anything else quite as fast as my Camaro SS 6A, but its fast.......... I just wish it was louder on the exhaust but thats off topic. |

So I officially drove a SS Manual this weekend. I can now say that I am glad I got the Auto L99. The manual is fun don't get me wrong and it's great, but I enjoy the options of the Auto like the Tapshift and Sports mode, and it does seem a hair faster on the initial release if you know what I mean. I don't plan to do any burnouts, since these 20" tires will likely cost around 400 bucks a piece.
