update for you guys

I have my car back from the dealer. All new chains, tensioners, and seals for front end. All under warranty. They said my oil consumption issue was likely due to the chains loosening up. Only have a couple hundred on it and have not lost any oil yet.*Could be wrong though. I am not convinced that my oil loss was caused by the chains though. Guess time will tell

Oh and if the oil loss problem was from the chains I think that should send a warning out to all owners

Interesting. Was it chains or the result of chains causing other thing to go.

Well the chains are not it. Have driven about 350 miles and the level is dropping. Not sure where they filled it to but it is at the lower portion just above the cross hatches. Back to the dealer I suppose.

At what point are you covered by the lemon law? Would think that if they cannot fix it and you have to keep taking it in. you should be given something that will work correctly.

This is crazy, you need GM involved.
New short block maybe?

Per the GM service bulletin - 1qrt every 500 miles is within design specification.

I don't use a qt in 4,000 miles, maybe half.

I guess I am just lucky. Ruby has never been one bit low on oil between oil changes............ever. I sure hope it stays that way.

As some of you know I have my timing chain done last month. I only have put around 650 miles on it since then. Just went to check oil level after reading this. My oil is stop on full. Doesn't look to be even a drop low.
