cold wet road, light drizzle. Passing another car at 40 mph. The other car drifted over, I punched the gas to get past him - bad decision. Should have hit the brakes but I was actually worried the guy behind me might hit me. the back end began to break loose to the left, I overcorrected to the right. next thing I knew I hit a streetlight. It jammed between the fender and the driver's wheel. The pole went down and flipped the car. No injuries. just a mark where the shoulder strap held me in the seat - and saved my life.

Some of you asked the same thing I did. No air bag deployment? No. I also never got a stabilitrak light. I was in tour mode.

Lessons learned:
1. If you have to drive the Z in even slightly bad weather, drive like a granny.
2. Make sure you have a "New Vehicle Replacement" policy with your insurer, no matter how careful you think you are.
3. If you didn't already know, wear your seatbelt!

Glad the only things hurt were your car and pride!

My first post on here! I am glad that you're okay and not injured except the ego. If you want to feel a bit better the same thing happened to a forum member I knew of back when I was on the Cadiallac CTS-V forums. He had a bit more mileage but it happens especially with cold weather and high performance tires.

Glad to hear you're OK. Seat belts are a no-brainer - just this morning we received news that one of my grandson's aunts died after she hit a patch of ice. The car rolled and she was thrown from the vehicle. If she had her seat belt on, she likely would have walked away.
