Rear Window louver install?

ok so i ordered new rear window louvers

let me start by saying they are awesome!!!
cant wait to put them on.. but thats where i ran into a little delemia.

the kit comes with 4 metal plates backed with 3m and a bolt (shaft part) sicking up away from the window.

the plate has a stamped hook that kinda grasps around and under the window to help it stay in place..

(in the pic the bolt that sticks up is facing away from the window... the hook clips under the window... and near my thumb you can make out the 3m.. there are 4 of these plates.. the louvers fit over the bolt and a cap screw on over it)

i guess the advantage of these plates are that aftre in stalled the louvers can be removed from cleaning..

the metal plates made me weary... im worried if one may come loose or poss just the vibration of the louvers under driving conditions may be enough to scratch the glass or paint...

my solution just 3m them on? they are light prob 5 lbs or less... would 3m around the perimiter be enough to hold them on?

help me camaro5!

I think the pressure of the louvers holding the hooks outward keep the hooks in place. I would put the 3m on as directed and then bolt the louvers on as directed. I have a sneaky suspiscion if you try to scrimp on the install you may end up with more of an issue when the louver lets go due to improper installation.

My answer is no, dont just install with 3m.
Cheers
K

Louvers are a Mustang thing, not Camaro.

When I saw the topic I came in to ask the same thing.

I allways considered it a Mustang thing. I don't think I've ever seen them on a Camaro.

I have seen them on a Vetter or two.

If you google Camaro with louvers and Mustang with louvers you'll find it's more of a Mustang thing. So many more pics with the Stangs.

GFX is a ricer thing
HIDs is a european thing
Having 4 wheels is a...

I didn't critisize him. Might look fine. Hell, I like chrome. Most don't anymore. I just basically asked a question and made a comment. And I was being sincere. Sorry I frustrated you.
