Hood/Trunk Removal For Rally Stripe Install
Hello All,
How hard is it to remove the hood and trunk lid off the car (2SS) ? I want to self install a rally stripe kit and I don't have access to a garage. I don't want to work outdoors due to bugs and the high 90's tempatures out here in NJ. I figure 70' degree air conditioning with the hood/trunk on a table would be perfect work environment.. Can these parts come off ? If so, are there any cables (fluid or electrical) that disconnect ? I thought a saw a cable or cord going up the trunk lid.. Thanks In Advance Joe |

May be easier to rent one of those large, enclosed outdoor picnic tents. That way you wouldn't have to worry about re-alignment issues when you put them back on...

If you remove the hood and trunk, you may never be able to line them up straight when you reinstal. An expereinced body shop can do it, but I wouldn't bother.
If you follow these stripe instructions carefully, it shouldn't take too long... http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...e+install&aq=f good luck |

OK #1 if you dont know how to remove a few bolts, you may not want to attempt to install the stripes. #2 if you cannot look at the hood and trunk and figure it out, you may not want to attempt to install the stripes. #3 im not being mean, but really?

If you've never done it before I would bring it to the dealer or someone who is well versed in that sort of thing. It's too nice of a car mess with.

Very simple. Mark the trunk and hood lids, remove bolts, remove one wire on the trunk lid. Make sure you have help to lift the hood without scratching your car. Take your time and be careful. I took mine off to paint the stripes.
