No jap scrap for me. American muscle all the way. I don't care about all the turning BS and fuel eco. a Nissan will never make me feel as happy as an American muscle car

I've had a lot of sports cars in the past, and I've been driving quite a few new cars lately in expectation of my Camaro pickup.
I love the looks of the Camaro, but I really want to drive one to experience it. I drove a 370z and a G8 last weekend, and an STi the weekend before that. The 370 (non nismo) handles like a dream, and I really like the guages and instrument panel. It is a great car. The main difference is that it is a completely different driving experience than the Camaro will probably be. With the Nissan and the STi, almost all of the power and torque is at the top of the RPM range. You really need to rev the crap out of both of them to get it moving, but they are fun when they get there. The G8 GT is a nice car, and it has a ton of low end power and pickup. But to me it felt like a boat. The handling and overall driving experience of other sedans I have driven in the past were much better. I was impressed by the motor, the sound, the power, but I wouldn't buy one. I hope the Camaro SS falls in between. A ton of power, but handles decently. We'll see. Bench racing and numbers only mean so much. The "feel" and the "driving experience" is what counts. Since I have a wife and a 2 year old, I need a 4 seater. If not, I would seriously consider the Z as a close competitor. |

so i think this should be a comparo between wrx sti and camaro ss. Both cars are known to be "brutes" in their respective countries.

Nah... but i am slightly biased toward smaller sports cars. I had a 2002 M3 for a couple of years. I travel a lot for work, so I've also been in a ton of rental cars. As far as other sedans, I've driven a 4 door G35, a Maxima, and a 328 / 335, M5, CTS, and many others. The G8 had a ton of power, but didn't feel as good around the corners as the cars above. It felt more like a really big car, more like a Dodge Charger to me than a "sporty" sedan.
I hope even though the Camaro is a big car, that it is a little better in the handling department than the G8. |

I'll keep my SS thank you very much!
But I would not diss Nissan quality. I've driven a 2002 Nissan Xterra every day since it was brand new and it has been very good to me...

Problem here is the G8 has been said that it handles better than it's cousin the camaro SS SO of the G8 felt like a boat to you then the Camaro won't be your car.

Man the amount of fun that car must be has to be off the chart. It must be like a crotch rocket just with 4 wheels.
