Fading sparks restorations emblems...
Anyone notice that on their Sparks Resto. SS emblems; especially on the rear one, the black paint between each 'S' fades and gets cloudy real quickly?
Maybe it's just on mine, but for anyone with this issue, did you do anything to alleviate it? Polishing doesn't seem to work. I'm thinking of wetsanding, buffing, and then layering it with clearcoat touchup to act as a means of prevention. I have the white Sparks emblems and this doesn't seem to happen on the white part of the emblems. But that might just be because the white won't show any fade or cloudiness... |

I am thinking that maybe Sparks changed their paint or materials at some point in time. The firt ones that I ordered had a rather flat black paint in between the letters. The new ones I received are very glossy and look 100 times better.

Yeah, the paint that came on mine is kinda flat. I must have one of the earlier builds. I'm hoping that wetsanding them, buffing them, and then giving them a light scuff will give a nice substrate to put some clearcoat touchup on.
