Help me make a decision about a camaro v6 or v8

my mom went and talked about the camaro and the guy was selling a 2lt for 27,000 and 5,000 down would make payments 400 a month it is a beautiful iom but with black leather seats and automatic the only thing is that i wanted the v8 with the iom trim and automatic or manual 2ss but i dont know what to do because it's for 60 months and i could make the payments now and when i get out of college i could really make the payments on both instead of waiting until next november when i graduate so i would appreciate a lilttle help guys because i dont want to impulse buy mom says the salesman said that the v6 when driving feels like a v8 but i never driven a v6 or v8 either is impressive but i just want your thoughts

wait and drive one when you get the chance. that's what i'm doing. Too much of an investment to not get what you want, at just the right time.

Here is my two cents for what its worth. I am getting the 2LT v6 RS because this car will be my daily driver. I know that it will not be as fast as a v8 or as fast as some of the other cars on the road but I think it will hold its own against most of them. For 29 mpg on 87 octane and 304HP the v6 was the better choice for me. I did test drive the v6 and when you step on it the car will definitely move. If you want to take it to the track and be able to compete wait and get the v8. There are definitely a lot more upgrades available for the v8 right now then the v6.

drive both, evaluate what will do it for you, what you can afford. there are both pro's and con's to both sides. but the bottom line here is, after you get the information to make an educated choice, make that choice and stick with it, YOU will be a lot happier in the long run, even if it means waiting.

for me, the v6 was enough, I have a STS Caddy with the same engine, its a lot heavier, so I knew what IT felt like when you hit the gas......and it gets the 28 mpg. the V6 is cheeper on insurance, regular gas. AND my last Camaro have a v8, but this v6 has 130 hp more than that.......304 is more than I needed.

I would rent a V6 first if possible.

For my situation, a V6 is fine. Everyone is different though. Its probably the best 6 I've ever driven, but it still doesn't throw you back into the seat like a V8 and most likely never will. It does however, get to 90 pretty damn quick and feels effortless while doing so. So effortless in fact I didn't even realize how fast I was going coming off the entrance to the highway when I first rented the 1lt I got from Avis.

Rent it, beat on it for a day, and then make up your mind. Even quick buys don't have to be impulses as long as you put a little thought into it.

Why is mom making this choice for you? its your $$ right? No dis
but if your payin than you should be the one playin. if you get my meaning.
If mom digs the v6 let her have it, and hold off on the car thats right for you....IMHO

Personally I like the 2lt I drove a v8 and it was a bit too much for me. If you think you can handle the payments then go for it man or if you're dead set on a v8 then wait until the car cools off sometime early next year and you should be able to get a deal on it or find a used one with little miles.

I say wait and get what you want! Don't get in rush and purchasesomething you might have regrets on later! I have a 2SS IOM inside and out. I love it! For me the IOM interior is freaking awesome! It brightens up the inside of the car so much! I was afraid it would be way to much orange but when I saw it for 1st time I realized I had made right choice! I also test drove a V6 and salesman was somewhat right it has alot of power for V6! but it not nearly the same as my V8. Also my V8 gets awesome gas mileage as long as I keep the lead foot of the gas pedal which is hard at times because even at high speeds this cars ride is so smooth! At 100mph it feels like your cruising at about 60mph! I'm not trying to say you should be out speeding just stating the facts. But personally I would wait and get everything I really wanted on this car. Regardless I think you will be happy! I think GM did great with this car!

yeah i agree hummer gm did great and i think i will test drive them both before making my decision

I believe most people get the 2LT. SS is more expensive, more gas, more insure money, more maintain money, and of course more horsepower.
test drive both, see what u like. Well, for me, it's also a hard choice to make.

I'd be patient and get what you really want. If you impulse buy or settle, you'll be dissapointed in the long run.
