Gurgling sound at 2500 to 3200 rpms

Hard to describe the sound, i'm thinking exhaust leak. Anyone with the ls3 have a similar noise?

Also seems more apparent at partial throttle.

A gurgling sound usually means liquid/fluid. You have a 2011, but the 2010s had a few TSB for coffee maker/water moving type sounds coming from behind the dash.
I had to take my car and get a new valve and a couple more parts. My car had a gurgling/coffee maker sound coming from behind the dash.

Doesn't sound like liquid, I just can't describe the sound, other than it sounds abnormal. Its the engine, either intake or exhaust. I put the stock air box back on to see if it stops and it does not.

Is it a sound that could possibly indicate your car has a sack?

Sounds like a personal problem, I would certainly get that checked soon...

I have a kind of gurgle.. more of a quick metal flapping noise... like the op said, an exhaust leak.

Yeah maybe thats a better way to put it. Bottom line is there is a strange noise that doesn't start until a certain rpm at partial throttle, then stops at about 3500 when you put your foot into it. I looked for soot at all the connections and couldn't find anything, just going to have it looked over at the dealer.

Still trying to figure out where all the teabag jokes came from

No, I scheduled an appointment for that and an oil change but when I got there there was no one "qualified" to diagnose the issue. I'll have to go back during the week. Brakes are making noise now so i'm going in for that too. Hopefully i'll get time this week.

DVAS, I might suggest possibly speaking with another dealership to see if they may have something else to say about the issue. B Mccue, I hope to hear good things when you get back from your dealer. Please keep us updated.

Okay, dealer replaced exhaust everything beyond cat, then when I left the dealer it sounded fine, now I hear it slightly again, so I am now going to guess it is exhaust and I am taking back for them to re-tighten... Normally when replacing exhaust, the good 'ol re-tighten is usual... but geez, I hope this is it....
