Convertible Problems!!

Anyone else have a problem with there vert frame bending or AC going out or problems with brakes. I even have little white bubble looking spots in my black paint. I wish I could drive it, but my service department seems to hold on to it all the time! Please GM, do something very very right!!!!

I am sorry to hear this, but it is something I would worry about on any convertible under 40k. It may be nice to put your roof down when the weather permits, but you are also taking your chances with a "soft top".

The paint issue sounds more like a common problem as many have complained about the paint jobs. If it is bad enough, the dealer should remedy it.

I hate hearing when someone gets quality issues with their Camaro, because there are so many of us who have been pleased with every aspect!

This is my third convertible, but first Camero vert. Never had a problem with frame or motors on any of them. I love my Camero and couldn't wait to get it. However, I paid $42000 for this one and would love to be able to drive it without worry or concern. It is very sad when the service department doesn't have a clue how to fix it and just stores it in the wash bay so it won't get rained on. I run an auto dealership and have worked in the auto industry for almost 20 years and this still blows my mind! Never seen a car have this many issues within first month of ownership!!

It happens every now & then with every make/model. If I had that many problems, I would let them know that I have a lawyer ready to take control of the situation if they couldn't provide me with another Camaro.

No, the lawyer thing clams everyone up and then no one wants to help. It becomes too cold and bitter. I would like to think that GM would want to make this right, especially if this is an isolated problem. They told me that they have been having problems with the AC units breaking but that was all. I am just too worried of many other problems to come in the future. Again, I have never seen this many problems at the beginning of a sale!

My last new vehicle was my "thorn" in my side. It got broken into and vandalized within 2 weeks of me owning it. I then ditched it right after the repair and 50% of it needing further bodywork/paint.

After I got through that period though... everything seemed to calm down and it lasted me 9 more years with no problems.

I hope your issues get resolved, and this board is a great place to start. I hope others can give you useful advice. All i can do is let you know there will probably be a light at the end of the tunnel.

I am sure your right, and I hope it happens soon. The weather here is currently perfect for top down driving but again, I don't have it! I love the responses from everyone that passes, great love for the Camero, just wish I could be living it now!

The frame concern is actually a little suprising as every reviewer that's taken a vert out has commented on the rigidity of the body, and lack of cowl shake. It's been reviewed as a very solid vert. Much metter than average.

So if you are getting issues with bending... GM should nip that one right away!

The only problem I have had is the handle bezel (plastic piece that fits in the center of the handle) had gotten pushed in the first time I put the top down. My handle wouldn't sit flush with the roof when the top was up. It was a 2 second fix once I got to the dealer.

Awaiting an answer to whether he will call me or not. Said they would let me know on Monday. I do have a loaner car that sits in my driveway, a Nissan Morano POS. They drive and feel the same, so I have no reason to complain.

A friend here in El Paso with a 'vert hasn't had any problems other than the fact that the middle section shimmys at speed, which is just how it's going to be with a soft top.

Sorry you've had problems, man. Is there a "lemon law" in your state? Sometimes there is an outlier vehicle ( of any sort) that just happens to have more issues than normal. The law of averages was apparently written by someone named Murphy.

Sorry to hear on your problems & hope all works out. If all goes to plan for my company Fearone I will be doing a convertible for GM for 2011 SEMA show and will keep concerns like you experience in mind doing our project.

Sweet, can't wait to see the outcome of that SEMA project. As far as the Lemon Law, we have one but it is very complex. I think it has to be multiple times the exact same part goes out for 30 full days or something like that. They keep fixing items that keep coming up except for the top currently. I'm just someone who loves original built items that haven't had several people learn and take my car apart. I want it untouched from the factory working properly. The law of averages have definately caught up with me on this one. Send Murphy to MS, I want to have a discussion behind closed doors!!
