$$ on a 2010 ls3 super charger or save for next car( vette)

I have 7,800 miles on my SS ( mods below nice day weekend cruser )
Thinking of a super charger or should I save and put the money down
On a new car ( used vette) down the road. I hate putting any more money in to
This car as it depreciates more every day.
I think I just answered my own question but what's your opinion.

IMHO FI isn't about market value of the car. It is about having fun with what you have. If a Camaro doesn't do it for you and a Vette is what you want... why bother. Strip your add ons off the Camaro, put it back to Stock and sell it.

I wouldn't want a vette as a DD or daily car. Weekend fun car, they are ok. I would rather drive a FI camaro over a vette.

Hell my DD is a mustang and vette is weekend toy.

Vettes dont turn heads anymore. Yeah the new model does... but thats only because its still in its initial gen release year. They are all over the place. If you dont want the camaro anymore or are tired of it and want something else, there are a lot of other cars for the same money that you should take over a Vette.

Regardless whether you choose a Camaro or a Vette, it needs a blower. Don't think that you can avoid the blower by choosing the Vette. Even at 3200 lbs, a Vette needs boost. It's too damn much fun to not take advantage of the options we have available these days.

Add 10psi, cam, bolt ons, and a little suspension work to an otherwise stock Vette....and you're looking at supercar capabilities. Maintenance is next to nothing. If something harelips, you don't have to mortgage the house to fix it. Compare that to anything on the market that can compete with it.

I love my '69 Camaro SS. There's not a better looking sports car on the road as far as I'm concerned. I may be just a little biased For something that's just flat assed fun to drive, a thoughtfully modded C6 Vette is tough to beat. Good looks, stupid fast, and 25+mpg.

Amen. Good post. We all sit here and get our heads buried in too much nitty gritty detail sometimes to see the big picture. That our LS cars are capable of supercar performance for 1/10 the cost....and with 10x the reliability.

I was on the fence with buying a Vette in '08 and made the choice to "settle" for the Camaro and was able to get one of the first production allocations. Currently, I've got over 77k miles on my Camaro and it's pumping out nearly 800 hp. Do I still want a Vette? Yup! Would I give up my Camaro to get it? Not a chance.

I love the C5-C7's, they are great drivers and still turn heads when they are taken care of. Fit and finish on the older cars isn't that great, but lets face it, we all start to fall apart with mileage and abuse, so you can't hold that against the Vette.

Adding a blower/turbo setup to your car will completely change the feeling you get while driving it. With just the blower, headers and a CAI the car felt like a completely different animal. There is a different feeling you get having the instant gratification of putting a heavy right foot down and watching the tach race towards the redline with the windows down and sunroof open. I'd swear the Maggie took 20 years off how old I feel driving this car.

Just as my bud said above.

I wanted a vette (z06) but i just bought a heartbeat supercharger if that answers your question. I even went to the dealer and started to talk numbers and wait time for the new Z. I compromised with my girl and ended up going this route. At this point ive dumped a large chunk into this build and do i have any regrets? Cant say that i do. I havent driven the new animal yet but i can already imagine how excited and pumped i will be the first time i drop that gear.

Go with the supercharger if you have the money. Enjoy your ride. One day the vette will come along.

Good luck brotha.
