lol, good point. reminds me of when I was younger and had a couple escorts. the one advantage to them was there were never a shortage of them at the local junk yard to salvage parts from. I think every junk yard near me had a hundred of them.

It's easier to buy a Mustang that's been modded by Ford then to do it yourself so many modders go that route. I have a 2011 California Special Convertibele and since it's already a "special" package I feel that I would be foolish to mod anything on it. Leaving it as is keeps its resale value. Ford is quick to come out with special packages right off the lot such as the Bullitt (I had an 08 in highland green and should have kept that one), Boss 302, etc. Then you have your Saleens, Roush's, Shelby's and even a couple of others that you can choose from. Ford and their aftermarket partners do a better job of putting together the right mix of wheels, body kits, power add-ons, etc. than most of us can do. What Chevy needs to do is partner up or at least bring out more specialty vehicles such as a new Z28.

for all questions:
Mustangs - yes, probably the only car with a bigger aftermarket than Camaro Challengers - no, not even close (there just aren't enough of them around...) although, I wouldn't be surprised if the percentage of 2010-1013 Camaros that are modded (as compared to total production) is higher than that of Mustangs.

Like the others have said...having owned 3 Cobras, 2 Lightnings, an S281 Saleen and 2 GTs...I can say from a personal experience, Ford has a number of large events each year...with Fun Ford Weekend events being some of the largest in the country.
...and although I don't know much about the newer 5.0 Mustangs, when comparing the number of mods available for the 4.6L and the LS2/LS3, the Ford camp wins easily. (In both affordability and availability).

I do have to say that the Camaro5's are a real winner, design wise and just darn good looking. They are not a retro to the original series 67-69, but rather complement them rather well. Like a natural evolution. New Mustangs and Challengers can't make that claim.
