I was thinking of just using plastic tubing for the intake and wrapping it in header wrap. I wouldn't have to worry about trapped moisture that way.

why would you have to worry about trapped moisture in there anyway?

header wrap on the intake will look like

IMO

Agreed - that's why I was going to give it a thermal resistant coating, preferably in some sort of flat black. Once again, because the piping will run for a considerably length right next to the radiator. Whats the point of a cold air intake if the air gets hot after it goes through the filter?

We haven't really detailed the engine bay yet, we're waiting for better weather and for the chance to get it out of my dads body shop, full of dust. So unfortunately I am not sure and wont have an answer for a bit.

Ok - let me know how it goes when you do. Found out that there's an HPC place in Oklahoma City, so I may just drop off the headers there to be painted and pick them up later. I've read a lot of horror stories of stuff damaged during shipping.

im sure if you looked around you could find some anodized tubing in the dimensions you want online somewhere. or find the tubing first and send it off to be anodized in the color you wish.

as for right next to the radiator.... its been done that way for years with minimal (if any) ill effects.

Are there emissions rules in Oklahoma? Anytime I drive through there nobody knows that the left lane is the fast lane, so I would imagine they wouldnt know anything about emissions.

Opening up old thread again, So what are some good V6 Headers that create great sound / look and are lighter than stock, and at what price. I have not found any headers on google or ebay so i have been looking, and some emission legal ones too, So that be helpful.

You're in Texas do you have emmisions? I've become a huge fan of LT's. Some don't like the rasp but to me it just makes the car sound more serious and hard core. I'm not sure it really matters that much which brand you go with. I have Stainless Works. OBX sells for 350.00 I hear. Much cheaper than a set of Stainless Works.

Happy hunting.
