While you're making things easier for everyone, any chance you're going to post how you got the MyLink to work in your car?

I would do this on a bench though definitely, there are considerable changes in the data frames the radio uses between 2010 and 2013 this is part of what our programming corrects (in addition to unlocking features in motion, setting it up for the differences in audio etc). There was even a lockup issue that had a PI on it due partially to this and its very easy to lockup the radio in certain instances that requires a reflash to unlock.
You don't need to tell me about bricking a MyLink. Lol

Well, all the wiring information is on the first page, about reprogramming you can do with a reprogramming tool and the tis2web or you can go to the dealer

What reprogramming tool?

What parameter(s) have to be updated on the MyLink head unit?

What options did you reprogram when you were in the TIS2Web?

Not correctly you can't. You then end up with 2013 firmware for a vehicle running Global A version 4.X in a car with Global A version 2.X. There have been a ton of small changes including frames where bytes were moved to other frames or shifted.

I had to spend about 6 hours just fixing THAT side of things alone to get these happy in the older cars.

THIS is the reason people need to wait for the kit, that and the extra options I've added to it but thats the big one.

So will you be doing all the VIN Number programming when one buys a kit?

Wouldn't it be easier to get the car running on Global A version 4.X

Really you did it eh? Whats the module address and what security algorithm does the silver box use? How big is the OS segment of the flash?

As far as a technician being able to do it, ALL a technician can do is load factory 2013 firmware/calibration into a factory 2013 radio which has major issues in a situation like this going back 2 full software revisions on bus architecture. This should be a fairly obvious answer as my link didn't exist in production in 2010 LOL

No, you'd be talking at a minimum reprogramming every module in the car to make sure everything lines up. Not to mention BCM hardware changes etc. The easiest part to change in this case is the part we are replacing which is the radio.

Yes I am doing the programming for the kits, VIN setup etc (unless Ofer changes his mind )

In addition to having the correct bus setup these units will also have all of the in motion locks removed IE Address entry and other possible easter eggs

Well I hope I am able to send my unit in if that's the case. I will be buying everything else through him. Harness and Part wise. I actually bought the SWC from him not too long ago. Wish I didn't have to go to the dealer for that.
