Spoiler standard on SS?

I am new to this website and I apologize for asking questions that have probably been ansewered. However, I have seen some pix of the Camaro with a trunk mounted spoiler vs. just the lip on the trunk. I am planning to order an SS with the RS package but sure don't want that spoiler. Is there a way to avoid it?

Nope. Standard on an SS. RS package has nothing to do with it unless you buy a V6. Then it comes with the RS package.

I'm sure you'll be able to find someone with an LS who would love to trade rear decklids with you though

Hmmm... Maybe it's just me, but I think he may want the lip spoiler instead. In which case it's standard on the SS.

Am I wrong? What is it exactly that you don't want and what do you want?

Guess I'll learn to live with it.

I'm an old guy and stuck in my ways. I have always like stealth performance and over the years have achieved it with debadging, destripeing etc. But that spoiler says either I've got the ponies, or I want you to think I have the ponies. Oh well. I want this car.

sounds like your best bet will be to either remove it & fill the holes or replace the trunk lid with one from a LS or LT model

Question to Venom

On some website I saw a Camaro with a spoiler that was the classic wing maybe six inches above the trunk mounted on two posts. That is what I don't want. I am flying blind here in that I havn't been able to get a brochure and the only cars I have seen in person are LS's

Don't worry, you can't get that high wing spoiler right now anyway. This is what you'll get:

What you're referring to is the high wing spoiler, which is an OPTION on all trim levels. So if that's what you don't want, then don't order it.

Case closed

Me FTW

Thanks-that's what I want

As I said, I'm a newbie here having driven GMC SUVs and Audi's for the past few years. The website I saw may have been some after market place. BTW, has anyone looked at the Borla catback system for the Camaro?

I'm guessing you saw the leaked mock-up Camaro pictures that the GM Accessories team was working on. This is the high wing spoiler...

Found the photo

It was on an Automoblie Magazine site and showed the "High Wing Spoiler" as a dealer installed option. Thanks to all for the responses.
