Vinyl wrap.
You can have it the way you want and when you go to sell it you can remove it for the rarer color. |

Please don't repaint it, seriously, just don't. There are too few blues out there (they're fairly rare) and it would be way too much money to properly do it.

had black............learned to hate black..........like so many other black owners that hate the amount of work to keep it decent looking when every second a bird sharts on it or a piece of pollen lands. AND IF YOU HAVE BLUE ITS A MORE DESIRABLE COLOR. SO FIND ANOTHER CAR......... And save the blue Camaro for someone who likes blue, And save the dull sticker wrap for someone else to think about. Because you know what happens to old stickers......

And Black would be the more "desirable" color. That's why there are so many people that want/own them including the OP. There is nothing wrong with wanting to own a Black car OP. When clean there is nothing nicer. Most people that dislike Black cars don't want to spend the time keeping them nice. |

Money is one thing - time is another.
Anyone know how long a professional paint job like this typically takes? Then add lead time for a professional shop. |

Repainting also DESTROYS resale value. Wrap it if it's a good deal

The vinyl wrap is a great idea, my quote in Utah was $2,000. But honestly, if you like flat paint you can get your car plastidipped for about $600 or DIY for about $350. Then when you get tired of flat black you can peel it off, your car isn't ruined, and if you want a red car for a year you can redip it. Somebody at JDP motorsports had a flat orange 5th Gen and it looked awesome.

This is a good suggestion, given that you apparently are practically stealing the car from the guy. OR, consider the price the guy is willing to sell for, add $8-10k to it (price of a good paint job), and that's how much car you can get elsewhere (if you're willing to keep looking). Plenty of black ones out there for sale.
Personally, I stick with the Blue Ray for such a good price.

Having owned a white, orange, and now current black Camaro..
I'd recommend going with the Blue. Black is just way to much work to keep up with. IMO |

Local body shop said to paint my car the same color (it's black) would be about $5K. To paint it a different color is a lot more work and would be around $9K - $10K.
I wouldn't change the black, it's a pain to keep clean but looks awful good when it is clean. Russ |
