High Wing Spoiler Not Available with WRS
Anyone understand why this option is not allowed with this package. I ordered thinking that this is what I would get with this option. Does anyone know if GM will allow exceptions or is this set in stone?
Thanks, Jeff |

Pretty much set in stone. The high wing spoiler does not use the factory mounting holes that is used with the RS spoiler. It requires a new decklid and custom drilled holes and mounting equipment. Not to mention that is it a dealer installed option and is not factory installed.

Man that's a bummer. I may remove the WRS package from my order then. You would think that GM would leave this up to the customer to decide. Oh well. Thanks for the information.

Wow you would remove the RS package so you could add a terrible looking spoiler. Obviously you like it and thats fine, its not for me. But the RS package is a must have, why not just get your car and swap trunk or have someone fill in the old holes???? The high wing isn't even available yet anyway and nobody knows when it will be available. They aren't even making them yet.

I thought about this one too, but if you remove the standard spoiler you then have more cosmetics to deal with (filling holes). In my wilder youth, I drove a black 1980 Z28. Looked really nice with the larger spoiler on it. Just thought that the elevated wing with the third eye brake light would look sharp. Obviously, the "short round" spoiler in combination with the elevated wing would look ridiculous so I won't even think of going that direction. The RS package will look really nice in white (I think), but adding the elevated spoiler would add a radical touch to the whole package.

Yea, I like the looks of the High Wing Spoiler...But, what I don't understand, is I don't even see it as an option on Chevrolet's website, just shows up on the car.
Also, like someone said, it's a DEALER add on and it also has to be painted by the dealer. I got this info from my Aunt (sales at Emerling Chevrolet). She told me the High Wing Spoiler requires painting. But she never told me I could not add it with the RS package when we went over the options I wanted on my 2SS. It's possible she missed it, we were on the phone with each other talking about the CAR when I asked about painting the GFX and the Spoiler info. |

After looking at the GM site, under the LT models it's an option, not on the SS models. Also, it doesn't come in IOM. Man, I am BUMMED!!!!

Doesn't really matter what color I get, I am getting the 2SS/RS package, so I can't get the High Wing Spoiler anyway, unless things change between now and November when I order. |
