Chevy Bolt Arriving 2016
http://fortune.com/2015/02/06/gm-wil...olt-next-year/ http://www.digitaltrends.com/cars/ch...ction-in-2016/ 200-mile range is pretty tempting. The price is $30k but I got mixed reports so its not clear if its before or after the tax credit. My main concern was the range in electric cars and their price. At least this does get us closer. The price is still a bit too high for my taste for a simple commuter car. Also, their 25,000 to 30,000 unit target is completely unrealistic and they'll lose money on this initiative unless this becomes a fleet car. I hope they don't use a change to the conventional "Chevy bland" style like the Trax. |

What is up with that front bumper? I wish they'd at least design it to look better than that... mask, shield, blob, or double-chin looking thing.

Yeah that front bumper is hideous. Too much space.

Not confirmed by GM. In fact a spokesperson said it's still just a concept.

The first change needed is the name. Can you imagine the confusion this will cause at the dealer?
Customer: "Hi, I'm interested in the Chevy Bolt." Salesman: "Did you say Volt?" Customer: "Yes, the Bolt." Salesman: "Great, we have a few" Walks customer to Volt. Customer: "No, this is a Volt, I was interested in the Electric car!" Salesman: This is an electric car." Customer: "No, no, no. This is new. All electric, the Bolt." Salesman: Blank look on his face. "Let me talk to my manager....." Don't doubt it, call any dealer, ask about the SS Sedan, they'll assume you mean Camaro SS.

So be it. If it does happen, I agree with everyone. Change the name!!! Seriously. GM needs to stop treating the names like a joke. Calling the car "SS" was simply a bad idea. I get it. GM is in the business of selling cars and there is a lot of psychological strategies that go into marketing. Hence why you see "R" and "S" in a lot of model names in other companies. No one is going to drive by a dealership and say "Hey, let's stop in here to check out the....bolt". |

Wouldn't be surprised if it made production in some way shape or form, but I do recall GM saying if they built it the name was up for change.
