Here is the competition. Not sure if I wanna run against him now, I heard he runs a 12.6. My cars pretty much stock. I'd still do it for fun and you never know I might catch him slippin.

I had a Duster (my 1st car) they came with either slant 6, 318 or HP 340.
TO put a big block in them the front end tends to fall out. But from the picture he might has invested in it. SO

If he does in fact have a 383, 440 ect I'd stay way away from racing him.
Light car + Big block = FAST

Yeah it depends, my dad has a 79 z28 with a bigblock 496 (8.1L), and it definitely has tons of power, but cant get it to the ground as well as a new car.

Theres a huge advantage to be had with gearing, newer transmissions, and electronics

Go for it! Win or lose, you will have fun. I hate losing by the way.

He told me it was a small block. Yeah, win or lose it will still be fun but of course I wanna win otherwise I may never here the end of it around the shop. Oh well, grin and bear it. I would run against him already but he only drives it once every 3 or more months. Plus the only drag strip may be closed and is an hour away. I'm not fond of tickets and/or do I want my insurance to go up. We need a good old back road. It'll be okay theres no rush.

Wink

A friend had a 340 Duster...
It beat everything on the road at the time...
A real 340 car has a 150mph speedometer & a small 6000 rpm Tach...
Runnin' or Sittin' the car looks like a trophy winner..........
