does anyone know what the specs on the sound system in the camaros without the boston acoustics package? how easily will it be replaceable? are there any aftermarket sound components planned yet?

All of these are unknown atm. Aftermarket companies may have a general idea on what they want to do but until the Camaro actually comes out and they get their hands on one, they can't really make plans as they don't know what they can and can't do and what is needed.

No CD's will ever go into the CD player of my car. In fact the CD player is pretty much useless when it has a USB hookup. |

Those of us with a thousand of older format music storage units REQUIRE a CD/cassette player. Face it, TONS of music ripped from various sources sound horrid. I abhor 99% of it. Jimmy Page finally remastered the Led Zep catalog. HE got tired of listening to some slightly over minimum wage record engineer remaster his analog music to his horrific taste of what HE thought Zep should sound like. It's nothing short of listening to a musical abomination when an artist's work is remastered by someone with no clue as to what was recorded. Few CDs sound like the artist intended if recorded before the mid 80s. SOME were remastered by someone that was THERE when originally made. The rest is only listenable on cassette in a vehicle. At home - vinyl rules.

but then again, technically tapes & vinyl slightly degrade every time you play them... so there's that tradeoff. and with the road/wind/engine noise, it ain't like you're listening to the stuff through a set of reference speakers while you're driving.
just playing devil's advocate here while i go dig through the closet to see if i can still find my truck's stock 1.5 DIN cassette player. you can have it for the cost of shipping if you want to adapt it into your car (FM receiver went out, though - that's why i replaced it)
