2013 Camaro 2SS RS 1LE just arrived
Hi all,
Just though I'd post saying that my car has arrived from Tennessee and is now tucked away in my garage dreaming of those long straight salt free American roads! :-) I'm still waiting for the DVLA registration to come through (waited two weeks so far) so it should all be properly sorted in the next few days. Overall my experience of the buying and importing process was mostly a straight forward one; the only problems I had were related to the 1LE Package and the Ground Effects Kit. The kit making the car lower to the ground made it harder to load on and off transporters at every step of the way (causing slight damage to front splitter and creating further delays) and then the IVA initially failed due to the 1LE wheels sticking out further than the width of the car. However, in the end I got to keep the wheels but that's a story I'll save for the summer meet :-) I took the car out on Friday night and all day Saturday during some pretty heavy traffic and I couldn't believe how much of a head turner it was. People beeping at me, waving, thumbs up, jaw droppers and boy racer in a pimped out corsa slowed down to force me to overtake. Sometimes I just want to hide (or wave back). Looking forward to the summer and meeting up with some of you guys and seeing some of the mods you've all done. Here's a few pictures... Last edited by pete-1le; 12-22-2014 at 01:46 AM. |

Cheers Ant, it felt like the longest 3 months of my life. It was worth the wait though! :-)
My parking skills aren't the best to be honest, I blame the reverse camera on that occasion. That nasty clutch burning smell I was telling you about has now gone away. It must have been because the car was standing still for such a long time. The 1LE gearbox is becoming easier to use the more I drive the car. I was wheel spinning on hill starts because I wasn't relying on the "Hill Start Assist" feature which holds the brake until the clutch engages. Lifting the clutch and then pressing the gas afterwards is weird to get used to but I guess that Chevy are catering for the USA market where people are used to automatic transmissions, or they had number of drivers rolling backwards on hills. Still getting clutch burning when reversing up hill but that's a common fault on these TR6060 gearboxes (so I've read in another post). |

Very nice. Love the projecting rim look.
The admiration from others never ends and I've experienced it from 4 year old Transformer lovers to 85 year old grannies. Even made a couple of friends in the area from it. Now - more importantly, to enjoy your new prized possession you need to get that 51 mph up and the 267 range down - maybe day 2 for that !!
