Washington State emissions?
Hey everyone. So I'm hoping to move back up to Washington from Texas and was wondering if there are counties in WA that don't require emissions testing. My Camaro won't pass and I want to make sure Im still OK with it there. I was stationed at JBLM before I was injured but never was able to get into the car scene while I was up there. Thanks for the help.

I live in Kitsap and have had no problems. I highly doubt I would pass emissions if they tested me. I have been all over the Puget Sound area and have never been bothered, but I do most of my driving in Kitsap County.

Unless you live on the Key Peninsula. We are not required to do emissions testing. All depends on your zip code.

Thanks for the help guys. I lived in Pierce and remembered having to have emissions tests but hear some other counties didn't need it which will be awesome. My Camaro has actually influenced our house hunt. We are looking now at Thurston county since Pierce has the testing.

2009 and later cars don't require emission tests in Washington. I haven't had to test mine yet. http://www.emissiontestwa.com/E/faq.aspx#3http://www.emissiontestwa.com/E/faq.aspx#3

The requirement is by zip code. For example, there are places in King County that do not require emissions testing. The link is from the WA DOL website (dol.wa.gov) to the contract agency that manages the testing on behalf of the state (Applus+ Technologies). |

Ive been doing some reading and it looks to me that they are looking to faze out emissions tested and being that my Camaro is a 2012 it won't need to be tested. Is this true?

I lived in Clallam County for 3 years, never had to do emission testing.
