2013- have the top issues been resolved?

Looking at a new SS convertible but the past top issues are worrying me. Have the issues been resolved on the 13's?

It may be too early to tell. My personal feeling is they took care of the major issues, but there will still be some longer term minor issues with rubbing that could affect longevity.

I'm a 5th gen newbie, so my opinion is based mostly off of what I have read so far.

Although it may seem the top problems were wide spread if you look at the threads most of the major issues were reported by the same people in multiple threads. So while it may appear to have been about every convertible must be having issues, it is more than likely much less than half.
That being said, I have a late September 2011 built 2012 with only one minor issue in the 5 months and 7,000 miles of use. I have probably put the top through 500 cycles of operation.
2013's will probably be much better in operation and have even fewer problems. This is just my opinion. But if you really want one I would not let all the negativity over the tops stop me from getting one. They are definitely a blast to drive top down.

I have a very early 2011 build and I thought I was relatively problem free until last week. After almost 2 years and probably over 1000 cycles of the top I had the 5th bow break. I am on vacation with it in Florida now so I wont be able to get it to the dealer till next week at the earliest. I am about to store it for the winter so I may just wait until the spring to have it looked at and fixed. So just be weary that it can take a while before a problem can come up. I have not heard anyone that has had a top issue on a 13 yet.

Angry wasn't your top replaced before you purchased your car and Rogers Chev. made sure everything was right before you got it? Not sure can't remember.
My two cents since my first 2012 was repurchased. I ordered another car with the assurance of Jack Pantaleo that the fix was on the line in February of this year. My second 2012 was built on 4/4 and I picked it up 4/17. 7000 miles and countless times with the top down I would have to say they have got it fixed so far. Mine still flaps in the wind when down but no rub marks, waves, etc. Ask me again this time next year but so far so good.

No it wasn't replaced. Their service guy who was trained by the GM engineer went over it before I picked it up and made sure all the TSB's had been performed and made a couple adjustments he said didn't look right to him. The only issue I have had with it was the rubber strip on the passengers side poked up there where the top meets the body right behind the quarter window. That was adjusted and no more problems since then. I do lube those rubber strips now once a month with silicone lubricant. That was recommended by the service department.

I can tell you that the top on my 2013 ZL1 Vert is still absolutely perfect after 3,200 miles if that helps.

Exactly. Not if but when. I just hope it's within warranty.

I've had my 13 a little over a month and no problems, 1200 miles, all things seem great so far. No rub marks, quiet inside, no leakage, top works great.

I would say that if you like it, go for it. Remember that there are warranties on new vehicles, which help guarantee peace of mind. Please let us know what you decide to do.

Truthfully I wish GM would go ahead and extend the warranty on all the 2011 and 12's tops and frames for the 5 years and 100,000 mile same as the power train.

Haven't heard one 2013 owner complain yet on here. And don't judge a rag top by rub marks alone...unavoidable, it's fabric that you are folding. I think they have solved the pinch points and water leak issues. Go for it!
