Horsepower Wars - ZL1 now in 3rd Place

For the 2015 model year, we Camaro ZL1 owners will find our Chevy powered machine in 3rd place in the horsepower wars behind the 2015 Mustang GT500 and the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat. How did this happen!

Update 7/1: 707 HP for the Hellcat.

challenger should have more hp its a brand new engine . But remeber the challenger is like 4300 lbs so they are out of the game even if they have 650 . Isnt the next gen of camaro getting smaller and ligther anyway .

Is there a 2015 GT 500. I thought I read the first Shelby for 2015 was going to be a GT350 with a blown 5.0 making 550HP

Who says??? Has the Hellcat been tested??? I'll concede nothing until I hear it from the standards (MT, C&D, R&T). The zl established the standard for the high powered pony cars, so IMO its reputation will stand at that (even if its outgunned...which has happened before with the GT500).

As far as horsepower, the ZL1 may now come in 3rd, but the ZL1 is MUCH more than just horsepower.

Have we heard anything about the MSRP for the Hellcat?

ha ha its called being first to the dance and everbody else knowing the target. I don't think there is any official HP for the 2015 SVT car yet though or if it will even be a GT500.


it will be interesting to see if the hellcat actaully has the overall drive or is just 600hp challenger. 580 vs 600 is a who cares if the the rest of the car does not work well.

if the the 392's ran low 12's though it seems like this should be hands down and 11 second car unless it is just impossible to launch.

I have never driven and LX chassis car yet that I even felt was on the same planet as my Zl1 in handling.
