Tail of the Dragon

The 5th Generation Camaros of the Carolinas club went to Robbinsville, NC last weekend to run the "Tail of the Dragon". It's a section of Hwy 129 just as it crosses the NC/TENN border. Absolutely awesome road!

318 CURVES in 11 MILES!!

Here's a couple of pictures...

It's well worth the trip. There are several other roads in the area that are really fun too. Moonshiner (hwy 28), Foothills Parkway, and Cherohala Skyway are all great drives with senic views and really nice curves.

+1 Its a very well known road so I'm sure they are all over patrolling it. I'll make it there one day. Bike or Car, not sure yet

Police are generally on the Dragon every day. We only saw one though and that was on a Saturday. Should be less traffic & police on a weekday.

What was also really cool was that there was a Juke-R there too. (That's a Nissan Juke with GTR running gear - ~550HP @ $600,000)!! There's only 4 that have been built and only one is in the US. Check out KILLBOY.com or his Facebook page for pictures.

That is awesome. I was thinking on doing that this year but plans changed and its on my bucket list to do. They have 4 or 5 other roads you can take as well when your down there. It would be nice to make a week of it to do them all.

I learned of the "Dragon" years ago on a motorcycle forum. That road is a legend, and sometimes crowded.
