Here is the thing, which car do you actually want? If you ask a bunch of people on a Camaro forum, which to get, 99% of us will say Camaro. If you go to a Mustang forum, 99% will say get the Mustang. Ultimately, the choice is yours and only you can decide which of the two you want.
As for my opinion, get the Camaro.

You either want a Camaro and willing to wait or don't
Unless you need a car right now, to me it boils down to which one do you really want? Think about the Camaro as the Christmas or birthday present you want and have to wait until the day rolls around. I think it is worth waiting for. I'm also 55 and have learned to be more patient then in my youth. The Mustang is the impulse purchase.

Ford won't give you the same 5 year , 100,000 mile warranty with that supercharger as GM would with a stock Camaro which will put out 426hp.
Sure...your GT will be faster. But, it's not a Camaro. It's really your choice. What do you prefer? We won't hate you for going to the "darkside." But, compare them both stock for stock without a supercharger. Remember, if you go supercharger, warranty won't be as good w/ Ford. Also, you are going to blend right in with everyone else before you even leave the lot. If that's cool w/ you, ..... Now, don't buy the Ford... |

You may be able to get a Mustang or a Challenger now instead of waiting but bassed on the reviews the Camaro is worth the wait. All the reviews I've read have put the Camaro on top. Which, in my opinion is why you can buy a Mustang or Challenger now.

The supercharged Mustang still will not be faster than an LS3 Camaro. Road & Track tested a 2010 Mustang GT with a supercharger and other go-fast goodies from Ford Racing Parts in last month's issue. They got it to run 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and the 1/4-mile in 13.3 seconds. This is from a 415 hp Mustang. Next month's issue of Road & Track will feature a 2010 Camaro SS that runs 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and the 1/4-mile in 13.0 seconds.

SERIOUSLY DO NOT BUY A CAR YOU WILL REGRET BUYING. IF YOU DON'T WANT IT DON'T GET IT. JUST WAIT A COUPLE YEARS.

Not everything is about HP. Look at the looks and styling of the Camaro it wins hands down.
Rustangs are common as muck where I live, every tom dick and harry has got one or rather I should say every tracy, sharon and samantha has one! As for Challenger, with the utmost respect for narmstrong, the Chally does nothing for me. I KNOW its a great car, a lot of you guys like it but for me it aggravates me, its like they took the blue prints and photocopied it and white out the date and put 2009 on it, no imagination, no thought went into it at all. PLUS, the rear makes me fall asleep, its so dull. Im a die hard Dodge fan. I desperately wanted the Chally until I saw what they did to it or rather didnt do to it. Anyway, each to themselves I say. The Camaro wins hands down in every department!

I have owned 5 Mustangs. 1965, 1983, 2001, 1991, and 1995. I never was satisfied with any of them. The 1991 was a street burner, 630+rwhp. It was a younger mans car. The Camaro has the look of a more refined, mature if you would, car. If you are going after the young punk wanna be look, by all means, please stick with the Mustang so not to bring the Camaro down to that level.
Ford has made strides to improve the Mustang, but it still looks like the last 2.5 Million others on the road. Do you want to confuse your car with someone else's just because you couldn't wait for a Camaro? The aftermarket has thousands of parts for the LS3 already from its time in the Corvette. Hell, I'm putting a twin turbo setup on my Camaro that will put down 600+rwhp. Its all a matter of what you like and what your willing to put YOUR money down on. Nothing is worse than buyers remorse on a car. When you trade it in, if you go upside down, its a terrible cycle that is very hard to get back on top of. I started that cycle with a '97 Z28 that snapped the rearend and tranny with just over 5k miles. But, like everyone else here, I have a new Camaro bias. Good luck with your purchase either way you go.
