Heres my trick, when the light comes on dont shift instead give it more gas and the light goes away and you can shift into 2nd no problems. Just tap that gas to like 3k or so and it goes away. Works every time I do it.

You may even want to think resale. An SS is going to hold its value better. Just a thought. Unless its fuel economy your worried about, I would go for the SS. HUD is nice but does not make the car.

I've posted pics along with my build journal. I've also posted my dyno sheets. Just because you can post pics of your daddy's car doesn't prove anything.

No, it needs to be at least 500 HP to be a fast car, no wait it has to be 600 HP to be a fast car, no wait it has to be 700 HP to be a fast car....

You say that because your daddy has a SS and the lowest an SS has is 400 HP. Period.

Just finished reading this thread and all I can say is you guys need to start your own forum. You obviously hate the Camaro and GM for even thinking of producing one with a V6. Apparently it's okay for other companies (Ford, Nissan, etc...) to do it, but not GM. Maybe you should join one of their forums and leave this one to the folks that love Camaros!

This is a topic that will be debated until the end of time on this site. I have driven both v6 and v8. My wife had a 1LT until we found out we were pregnant in January and I own a 1SS. I owned a 2SS automatic and I sold it because after being in my wife's 1LT I really got to where I didnt like the 2SS interior at all so I sold it and ordered my current 1SS.

I was really impressed with the 1lt we had ,it seemed more nimble than my SS ,it didnt have the brute strength of course but it was fun as hell to drive in a different way. I think they really are two completely different cars all together and both are extremely fun to drive its just a personal preference on which car you prefer...for me it was a 1SS. I would not trade my car for a 2SS right now , I just dont like the leather seats and the gauge pack but hey thats my decision and my money and I feel the same way about what trim level/package others choose to spend their money on.

We in Europe like diesels...I hope GM see the potential EU market and fit a nice torquey 2.5 litre turbo diesel.

Might happen with the CAFE stardards.

What I hope we see is a 4.9L DI VVT twin-turbo/supercharger shortblock! I'll be prepared then!

Thanks man , he's my world. He was brought home in the Camaro that I hope to pass down to him one day. He and the Camaro were born 18 days apart which will be a pretty cool story to tell him one day. June 7th for the Camaro and on June 25th Easton was born.

Thats the same on my 98 z28. Has anyone looked into a skift shift eliminator? I have one on mine, plugs into the electrical from the tranny and lets you shift normally, or skip if you want to.

That will be an awsome story! One of my employees has the 2SS and carries her little kids around in it all the time.

BTW, what part of NC? My family's from Aberdeen, just SW of Fort Bragg. I love the Sand Hills!
