I had this exact same question. At my dealer, I basically got a new 1SS for a little more then a 2LT. For "ME", I had to have a V8. "MY" preference was that this is a sports car first. I wanted power. If I wanted a Cadilac, I would have bought one. I'm not V6 bashing, but I went with the 1SS for two reasons....One, I fell that the money is better spent on power for this style of vehicle and two, I knew without a doubt I would have buyers remorse with a V6 no matter how many options it had. Now, 1 month and 1k miles later, I am very glad I went with the 1SS.

2 LT RS with Airaid V2 and SS mufflers = about 320 -325 HP and 31 MPG...but can see desire for V8 too. No real bad choice.

Sure he would, and more so on any Camaro. If you haven't driven V6 then you're clueless... you can easily break speed limits without realizing it.

Seriously 400HP is fast but 88HP less is not?

Guess I'm the lucky one then, lol....

If it's for taking it to the track, beefing it up some and compete then V8.

Said plenty of times many Camaro owners are not racing or even get to speed limits with traffic so what's under the hood is pointless.

It's all purely for enjoyment period. Buy the model that you will use and not some anonymous poster's pretend to know on the internet.
i dont understand some of you v6 people, you guys think just because we have a v8 we are looking to go the track.. well thats not the case, maybe we just want to feel the power everyday.... maybe when we buy a muscle car we want a muscle car engine. and plus the v8 isnt even that fast of a car, at the drag

auto has 400HP and the manual has 426 .. hes comparing the autos, because if you compared it to the manual it would be over 100 more hp. and it looks better to say 88 rather then 114 more HP ... cuz 114 HP more is a shit ton ...

The HUD is a cute little gimmick but it isn't necessary. I'd go for the power!!!

Don't buy the 2LT for the HUD. Buy it for the amenities you get with that model. The difference in power is negligible. GM built a great product with the V6 with plenty of horsepower (312 stock). With mods I am at 340HP. good luck with your purchase.
