Renting a Camaro Vert in Hawaii?

Hey all.. I'm headed to Kona, Hawaii later this month, and I'd like to rent a convertible for the time we are there. All of the major rental companies offer a "Convertible" option, but it always says "Mustang or similar". I don't want a Mustang, I want to feel at home driving...

Does anyone know of rental companies on the island that offer Camaros?

Thanks!

Paul

I just went to Kauai and they don't offer a Camaro convertible so we got a mustang! But... They ran out of mustang Verts soooo they gave us a Camaro vert that they "didn't have"!

I thought I read somewhere that GM is not discounting the Camaros for the rental market. So, there are fewer out there.

Around here, renting a Camaro, if you can find one, is $180/day vs the $50/day for a mustang.

Hertz will allow you to rent a Camaro SS Convertible, and reserve that exact model. I just checked and they do indeed offer it at the Kona airport.

I know Budget on Oahu has them as rented one last summer! Saw tons of them on Maui a month ago.

Maybe just call them and ask. But I would say Budget is your best bet or Hertz as muscle96ss mentions above.

Saw a bunch of Camaro convertibles on Oahu when I was there in July. At leat one rental company put an ugly protective side moulding down the whole side of their cars to protect for door-dings and to save a little work for when they put them on the used car market, I guess....

I remember seeing a lot of SS vert rentals in MIA and ATL . They all seemed to be red, yellow or orange . I can only imagine the beatings those poor cars endure.

Thanks all. Ended up getting an SS Vert through Avis, for around 550-600 for 9 days. Pretty pleased. Looking forward to it!
