Best truck freight company to ship oversized package?
So im planning on doing a bumper swap with someone in Houston, Texas, Sending my bumper out from Detroit, Michigan, just wondering if anyone is familiar with a freight truck company that will ship this for a reasonable price. UPS and FEDEX quoted $350 +!!
THANKS!

Must be a big heavy bumper. I just sent 40 lbs of antique car parts from Ct to Oregon for under $35.00 using UPS..... 5ft long by 1ft sq pkg.

Believe it or not, but check with Greyhound. Might take a bit longer, but its usually much cheaper!

Didnt know greyhound did shipping but ill def take a look. thanks! its the LT camaro front bumper, Im guessing about 30lbs, 74"L, 28" Height, 20" Width MIN BOX. According to ups if the L + 2xW + 2xH exceeds 165" then its considered freight and the price sky rockets, ur dimensions would be fine for regular UPS shipping, thats why im assuming it was soo cheap.

Unfortunatly with frieght shipping unless you are doing volume with them it is quite expensive, and add in residential pickup and delivery and im surprised at 350 i know with out discount residential adds about 100 and when you do it twice once for pickup and once for delivery theres 200 right there is surcharges. We use UPS and UPS SCS and get an amazing discount but then again the trailer is at our place everyday picking up and dropping off we spend well over 30,000 with UPS per month so they tend to help us out a little

Find a local Pack and Mail type place and see if they dabble in freight (we do) and they have a bidding system they can put out there and see what someone rates it for you...

go online to www.uship.com if you want to get a great price on shipping anything. Drivers who are going cross country and have extra space in a truck will send you bids. You can even see feedback from their past customers. I have had great experiences using this service to ship large parts!

You might try Wagoneers as well. I think that is who I used here at the office to take a pallet up North to the Dakotas or me and it was a decent price.

I used Uship before, and it worked out just fine. I shipped a bumper cover using Greyhound as well, that worked out good as well. Two reasonable choices.
