Roof ditch different than body color

I am curious if anyone has done their roof ditch molding a different color than body color (excluding non-rs black/gray). Considering something but want to get an idea of looks of anyone has done it.

It depends what colour you have. Dark colours of car and bright roof it won't be looks good. Brighter car's colour and darker or then even brighter roof it will be looks good, very good, ok, amazing or not exactly good it depends what colour.

It was just a curiosity, my roof ditch moldings were cracking and needed to be repainted, so was considering doing them the yellow to match my stripes, decided against it and just kept them green.

Each to his own. I would not change the color on my car because one of the options of the 2SS/RS package is that the roof ditch color matches the rest of the car's color. For me why delete an option was distinctive of the car model?

I agree. Change for changes sake is not usually a good thing.

Probably going to be hard to get a perfect match due to the slight fade over the years.

Yep, that color is going to be hard to match due to the pigment and roof fade over the years. You are going to have to get as close to it as you can and be done with it. My Camaro is RJT and I have a heck of a hard time matching things up colorwise.. Close, but not dead on right.

Here locally, we have an automotive supply shop that uses a scanner to match up paint. I used this to get some touch up paint, as the stock color number really didn’t match the paint on my car.
I think this would be beneficial for issues like this. Check your local shops.
