MOF, check out the 2013 V ROD, which has a satin finish pearl white finish. (white hot denim)

It's not a "high maintenance" thing - it's literally that you can't maintain it. Ask any professional detailer, they'll tell you that you can't polish or buff a satin/matte finish.

Also, isn't it extremely difficult to paint satin colors correctly?

And the reason you won't see it as a production color is because it's a satin finish - you can't bush or polish scratches out of satin paint, it'll make the paint shiny. You're only option for paint "repair" is to repaint the panel.

And therefore it is a no-go for those of us actually tracking the car. Impossible to clean the clag off without destroying the paint.

The colors aren't satin; the clear coat is.

That's not a problem Stig - that's a benefit. I had a satin black Harley for years. You never polished it. Wash, dry, plus they they make satin finish cleaners, which is what I used on my matte black stripes.

BTW, the matte finish held up better the gloss finish... no swirls, etc.

I'm just saying - I talked to Adam's and Detailer's Domain about repainting my camaro in a satin black pearl, both said that if I was planning on driving the car to not do a satin finish.

I know... I heard the exact same thing when I bought the flat black harley. But I can tell you that after 2 years, it looked like new (about 10,000 miles).

I can't say the same for the gloss black one I had for about the same time. Since my Camaro is gloss black too... it has swirls, nicks, dings, scratches, etc. in the paint. Could some be buffed out? yeah, but most would need repainted as well.

But as I said in earlier posts, I think that satin white pearl stripes could make killer ghost stripes on a summit white car... say a ZL1. :thumb up:

Most owners of both don't ride their motorcycles everyday as they do with their cars. The motorcycle is going to be a lot easier to maintain against rock chips and door dings than a car!

You guys know that in 2010 Mercedes Benz came out with satin finish on a lot of there car's, so you know there are cleaners for them, i was thinking of using there paint, will see.
