Big three builds in Mexico and lots of the parts on new American cars are made down there also. This keeps the price of a new car at $35-40K instead of 45-50K. Just my o2 |

Thanks for info all.
I'm going to put the car up on the lift tommorow and double check that all the t's are crossed and i's dotted. I just got off the phone with JBA and they were very helpful and seemed committed to helping me. They agreed that it is possible that I have a set of defective midpipes and that those particular units might not be catalyzing as well as they should. They recommended that I clear the codes (which I did), and do a full battery disconnect/fuse pull (which I did NOT do at time of install) and give it a few weeks. If it comes on again they said they would agree to look at the cats and do an exchange. He also mentioned that he thought anti-seize could possibly affect the grounding of the o2 sensor () and to double check connections and voltages. Again thanks to all. |

btw....it would be nice to live in the age where you could buy everything US made if you wanted too. Sadly it is no longer. I cant remember the exact number but our cars have very high percentages of foreign sourced parts. I ALWAYS look at where ANYTHING I buy is made, and weigh that against price and all other considerations. Frankly however, I believe in basic economic principles and in keeping costs down. The exception is that when given the choice, I WILL NOT buy chinese, even if I have to pay WAY more.
