Only joking.Perhaps where i live i have more throttle alterations to make,what with more traffic,congestion etc,but i've never seen a 20 yet.
Gonna try harder, though as someone pointed out i really did'nt get a SS to worry about consumption,i was just curious.

My daily commute is 25 miles one-way, all city. I average 17 and I definitely reach the speed limit in a hurry. I've checked it on the interstate and it averages 26-28 depending.

A V6 would have given you maybe 2-3 more MPG in town if you're lucky, 3-4 more on the I. No one gets a V6 in these cars for the fuel efficiency.

I have read where people with superchargers and turbo's are claiming 26-28mpg.

I have a SC and get around 16+. Yes, my right foot has a lot to do with that.

Stock, I did get it up to 24mgh on a longer freeway cruise.

Supercharged SS or whatever his screen name is... I always forget... says he gets high 20's with his car. That's highway from what I read. So it's doable and I imagine though I haven't seen any documentation on it, that a lot of improvements can in fact help fuel consumption.

Not sure of mpg, but DIC claims 17 liters for every 100km. Not sure of the math to convert.

I averaged 23.3 on my 400 round trip this weekend, about 60 percent of the time doing 75 and the rest 30-45 stop and go with tons of steep hills and turns... did the math when I filled up and I got about 22.5 mpg. I still think that is pretty good considering my lead foot and only 3500 miles on the car.

6th gear drone? I dont hear that at all so maybe you have a problem.

I don't get the drone either. As for the MPG it seems like 65mph or so (in 6th gear) is the sweet spot. Can anyone confirm that? Any more and it seems like people are losing out on mileage. Of course I imagine weather, terrain and all sorts of other factors come into play.

I reset all of those stats every time I fuel up. My daily driver SS M6 averages 21 back and forth to work(25 miles city/country) and around town errands. The one trip I took averaged 27 cruise set at 72 in 6th gear.

My god, 82 in 5th gear? No wonder your mileage is so bad.

They're talking about SSs aren't they? I hit a high of over 27mpg on the Interstate but it has now settled into 19mpg average city/farm to market/gravel road to my house. No drone of any kind with my LS3 1SS.

I couldn't tell you even if my car has an average mpg thing on the odometer. I'm pretty sure its on the turn signal stick.

I do know it likes gas stations

Bought my car in Indiana, flew up and drove all the way back to Kansas City in one day, even with varying RPM'S i still averaged about 26 mpg.

They may be... but I've heard that same complaint (both really, the drone and fuel) about the V6. I thought both cars had a general sweet spot from what people had mentioned, and 65mph was it for the SS. The drone sound I don't get at all. If I open just one window with the AC on I get that vacuum effect with a "whoomp" feeling/sound. But if I crack the other window, no problems.

No matter how much 'coasting' i do,i have never seen a higher figure than 19.8mpg.
I drove a return trip from Germany which was 310 miles,at an average speed of 82mph,that gave me a return of 15.8mpg.Thats to be expected, but i have seen what seem to be,some wildly exaggerated claims on here and can get nowhere near them.
Have i got a hole in my Petrol tank!?
Have you reset you MPG setting? If you don't, every time you take a trip it will just average in to what was already in the system. Pull the setting up on your screen and then hold the end button in until it resets to 0. This will reset the MPG for the trip you are about to take. I have averaged as much as 25 MPG driving down to C5F.

Completed a 400 mile trip and averaged 22.6 mpg in my 2SS L99, ran cruise control locked in at 72. (just rolled over on 2000. mile) My brother has the big Challenger and he says the best he can get is 19. mpg.
