^^^ Daily driver. Washed twice a week sometimes, definitely once a week. Garaged nightly. California duster daily. Are you convinced yet?

I know. I was referring to the washing technique shared by many black camaro owners.

Looks like some of us don't - I was talking to the lady saying how common black was.

And yes, it is my parents who need convincing, but if I get it, I'd love some pointers on how to keep it nice n sexy. Like I said, it will be my daily driver (school, errands, mall etc.)

I do like black, but my issues are that it has to be cleaned all the time. Just remember that most pictures you see of a black Camaro on this and other forums are after a clean, wax, and some loving. Most of the time your car won't look that good.

As for visibility at night the Camaro has four massive rear lights, with reflectors, HIDs on the front, and lights on the side front and back for side visibility. With all those lights, the color of the car is going to make little difference.

You're luck your only hurdle is the color though! I would never let one of my kids have such a powerful car while they were still young enough to be asking my opinion.

These cars are fast, have reduced visibility, and are not as easy to drive as many others available. I don't think it is a good choice for a young driver.

Get black as long as you don't mind putting time into cleaning it once or twice a week. I love my black Camaro

My parents would never consider getting me this car if they didn't trust me, didn't think I could handle it, and didn't work for it. They are getting it for me because they know I'm responsible and not some idiot who's going to be racing to be the cool kid on the block (just having a Camaro will make me the coolest kid on the block IMO xD)

Black is good.. yeah. But don't set aside the fact that you'd have to keep it really clean. Regardless of what anyone on this thread says camaros don't look good dirty and that also doesn't make the owner look any better. People would think you don't care about a car and they'll be like "did he go rally racing in that thing?". Evos and Sti's look good dirty. Not a muscle car buddy not a muscle car. But yeah, if you can take good care of it why not. Also scratches show up really visibly while it's under the sun. I'm 18 and my parent are about to get me a camaro lt1 for my first car. Personally i want the SIM with black race strips. Looks beast as it is and less cleaning and more time for modifications We're on the same boat buddy our folks are buying us an amazing first car haha
