Stabilitrak Freakout

Car is 2SS RS Auto with 300 miles on it. Cruising down the highway yesterday and the stabilitrak lights start flashing, info center says service stabilitrak soon. Car is running fine, so I stayed on the highway for another 2 miles or so until my exit came up. Once I slowed down at the exit, the car freaked out, began to idle rough, chug, and lurch. Pulled into parking lot. Tried turning it off/on, and drove around the parking lot. Lights went away, but it wasn't running good. Got back on highway and headed to dealer. Stabilitrak message went on and off again then CEL came on. Dealer pulled a bunch of codes (one was engine misfire, dont know the others) and showed me a TSB. The car was behaving as described per TSB. The TSB said the issue was related to a damaged wiring harness on the pass side hitting the exhaust manifold. My cars harness is well clear of the manifold. Dealer found no issues, clear codes, and sent me on my way. Anyone else had a similar experience?

The last few cases of the stabilitrac lights coming on and a bunch of codes were related to a faulty computer. If it happens again, the dealer should be more agressive in finding a fix.

Not sure if this will help, but just keep it mind to have it checked out next time at the dealer. I have been fighting the "Service Stabilitrak" light for about 11K miles or so. Just now starting to get to the bottom of it. One trip to the dealer, they discoverd that the wiring harness was partially unplugged, but the light came back on afterwards. Today, they discovered that the steering wheel angle sensor is bad. Hopefully, this will take care of the light. I have had it serviced numerous other times, but no real reason to the cause. A low voltage reading appeared one time doing the diagnostics, but the light continued to come on. So, I will coninue to take it to the dealer in hopes of finally eliminating all the possible causes. It just makes me wonder how many other things are partially unplugged or bad on the car.

After many tries by the dealer, they finally located the problem. It was a faulty steering wheel angle sensor. Do a search on this forum for the sensor and you find many threads, some by me, on this topic. The 07/08 Chevy Trial Blazers are notorius for this sensor going bad...they have their own forum and many threads on this topic. It is funny that the dealer does not have this in their database as something to look at.

Can anyone explain why the engine would run all messed up from a steering wheel position sensor?
